You Are Never Too Old

You’re Never Too Old.

Consider … George Muller

“In 1834 (when he was 28) he founded The Scripture Knowledge Institute for Home and Abroad, because he was disillusioned with the post millennialism, the liberalism, and the worldly strategies (like going into debt) of existing mission organizations. Five branches of this Institute developed: 1) Schools for children and adults to teach Bible knowledge, 2) Bible distribution, 3) missionary support, 4) tract and book distribution, and 5) “to board, clothe and Scripturally educate destitute children who have lost both parents by death.”

The accomplishments of all five branches were significant, but the one he was known for around the world in his own lifetime, and still today, was the orphan ministry. He built five large orphan houses and cared for 10,024 orphans in his life. When he started in 1834 there were accommodations for 3,600 orphans in all of England and twice that many children under eight were in prison. One of the great effects of Mueller’s ministry was to inspire others so that “fifty years after Mr. Mueller began his work, at least one hundred thousand orphans were cared for in England alone.”

He did all this while he was preaching three times a week from 1830 to 1898, at least 10,000 times. And when he turned 70 he fulfilled a life-long dream of missionary work for the next 17 years until he was 87. He traveled to 42 countries, preaching on average of once a day, and addressing some three million people. He preached nine times here in Minneapolis in 1880 (nine years after the founding of Bethlehem Baptist Church).

From the end of his travels in 1892 (when he was 87) until his death in March of 1898 he preached in his church and worked for the Scripture Knowledge Institute. At age 92, not long before he died, he wrote, “I have been able, every day and all the day to work, and that with ease, as seventy years since.” He led a prayer meeting at his church on the evening of Wednesday, March 9, 1898. The next day a cup of tea was taken to him at seven in the morning but no answer came to the knock on the door. He was found dead on the floor beside his bed.”

Faith That Is Seen by Andrew Wommack

Faith That Is Seen
Andrew Wommack

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.’
Mark 2:5

Faith can be seen. Just as Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3:8, faith is like the wind. Faith itself is invisible, but saving faith is always accompanied by corresponding actions which can be seen (Jas. 2:17-26).

It was not only the faith of the paralytic that Jesus saw, but also that of his four friends (Mk. 2:3). This demonstrates the effect our intercession in faith can have upon others. Jesus saw their faith. **However, although our faith released on behalf of others is powerful, it is not a substitute for their faith. It is simply a help. The person who is to receive the miracle must have some degree of faith, also. **
Even Jesus could not produce healing in those who would not believe (Mk. 6:5-6). In this instance, it is evident that the paralytic himself also had faith because he was not resistant to the four who brought him; and he got up and obeyed Jesus’ command (v. 7) without having to be helped.

When the Enemy Threatens…

When the enemy threatened, Asa cried out to the Lord for help…

2 Chronicles 14:11-12

And Asa cried out the LORD his God, and said, “LORD, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power. Help us, O LORD our God; for we trust in You, and in Your name we come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God. Let no man prevail against You.”

💕So the LORD struck down the Ethiopian Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled.💕

🔹🔹🔹

The next time Asa was threatened… He called upon another king for help with his enemy …

2 Chronicles 16:7-10

And at that time Hanani the seer came to King Asa of Judah saying, “Because you depended on the king of Aram and did not depend on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Aram escaped from your hand.

Were not the Cushites and Libyans a very large army with chariots and horses, but when you depended on the LORD, He gave them to your hand.

For the eyes of the LORD move about on all the earth to strengthen the heart that is completely toward Him. You have acted foolishly in this, and from this point forward you will have wars.”

Then Asa was angry with the seer and placed him in prison stocks, for he was enraged by these words. Asa even oppressed some of the people during this time.

🔹🔹

Very simply stated, Asa trusted the Lord, and then the next time did not trust the Lord and depended on man to help him win the battle.

I’m just sharing this because it’s very easy to set out strong and vigorous full of zeal but after time get worn down and start depending on our own logic and reasoning instead of continuing to trust the Lord

We all do it.
We are raised in our culture to depend on the carnal- logical mind to solve our problems. Our culture does not fancy faith… ‘Believing before seeing.’

Do not grow weary of doing the right thing… Don’t look for shortcuts… Lean and trust on the Lord… For the eyes of the LORD move about on all the earth to strengthen the heart that is completely toward Him.💕
